迈克尔•桑德尔教授系美国哈佛大学政府系讲座教授、美国人文艺术与科学学院院士。他的学术论著包括Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do?，Justice: A Reader，The Case against Perfection: Ethics in the Age of Genetic Engineering，Public Philosophy: Essays on Morality in Politics，Liberalism and the Limits of Justice等等。
于2010年3月19日“世界社会科学高级讲坛”第二十六期做了题为题目是“什么是正义（What is Justice?）”的主题讲座。
