ACJS Call For Abstracts For Participation in the ACJS Workshop at the UN Congress Meeting In Salvador, Brazil, 2010
During the last two conferences, ACJS held exploratory sessions in preparation for the UN Congress in Salvador, Brazil, 12 to 19 April, 2010. Based on these sessions, most of the participants have indicated an interest in the workshop on international criminal justice education for the rule of law. As a result, the workshop will address this topic. The title of ACJS’ workshop for the UN Congress will, therefore, be International Criminal Justice Education for the Rule of Law.
The ACJS will authorize 3-4 individuals to participate in workshop.
Members who are in interested in participating are requested to send the following:
- a 350 to 400 word abstract of their proposed presentation.
- a brief vita outlining only those things that are applicable to this project (e.g. prior work on these topic areas, prior workshops offered, publications applicable to this topic, current position, etc.). DO NOT forward your entire vita.
- a statement indicating that if selected, you will be able to cover any expenses not covered by the Academy, and you guarantee that you will attend, except in emergency. We need assurance that individuals will not back out once they are selected.
Participants must be members of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences at the time of selection and participation in the Brazil meeting.
The Academy will reimburse no more than $1000 of each selected participant’s expenses.
