John Dunn

John Dunn, 著名政治理论家，英国科学院院士、美国人文艺术科学院外籍院士，剑桥大学荣休教授，英国伦敦国王学院终身研究员，复旦大学社会科学高等研究院高级访问学者。他的研究主要集中在政治思想的历史发展及其在实践应用中的政治意义，包括对现代政治理论的反思；自由主义和社会主义政治价值观和政治可能性的历史形成和思想弱点；解释各种现代国家的政治轨迹；洛克的政治思想；民主在世界各地的历史发展和现实意义。

他的著作包括The Political Thought of John Locke, Modern Revolutions, Dependence and Opportunity (with A. F. Robertson), Western Political Theory in the Face of the Future, The Politics of Socialism, Locke: A Very Short Introduction, Rethinking Modern Political Theory, Interpreting Political Responsibility, The History of Political Theory,  The Cunning of Unreason,  Setting the People Free, Breaking Democracy’s Spell ­and Concepts and History，其中八本书在四大洲以中文、日文、韩文和印尼文、阿拉伯文、阿尔巴尼亚文、罗马尼亚文、俄文、德文、希腊文、西班牙文、意大利文和法文等语言出版。他曾在中国、加纳、印度、日本、加拿大、意大利和美国的大学担任客座教授。
