Forum of The Jowett Society & The Philosophical Society

The Jowett Society and the Philosophical Society of the University of Oxford provide a forum for discussion of philosophical issues for all members of the Philosophy Faculty.  The Jowett Society dates back to the 19th century and was named in honour of Benjamin Jowett (Wikipedia entry). Previous speakers include Russell, Wittgenstein, and Davidson.

Meetings are held in the Lecture Room in the Faculty of Philosophy, 10 Merton Street; they are generally on Fridays from 4.30pm-6.30pm, with the exception of John Campbell's talk in Week 3, which is on Tuesday 27th October at 5.15pm. Admission is free and open to all.
