“城市社会结构的变动与重构”国际学术讨论会会议通知
一、 会议概况
中国的城市经验正在成为一个世界性的话题。城市社会是如何在中国改革开放中成长的——城市空间和社会结构是如何变迁的——这种成长有着怎样的中国规律？在这一过程中，国家和社会在城市的层面如何发生互动和关系重构？新社会群体和新的市民空间是如何形成的？城市化进程一方面怎样改变城市的空间布局，另一方面又如何影响目前的城乡关系？本次会议将就上述问题展开研讨。
除了大会，本次会议还设立了五个分论坛，分别是：
- 都市社会空间和新社会群体
- 社区秩序和权力重构
- 城郊农村发展和城乡关系
- 住房公平和空间分异
- 城市政策与青少年发展

欢迎城市社会学研究领域学者积极提交论文，参与本次会议。论文要求是未发表的原创论文，会议入选论文将结集出版。会议论文和摘要须编辑成WORD文档，在线提交到urbanconference2009@gmail.com。

Call for papers:
International Workshop on the Changing Social Structure
in Urban China
October 18-19, 2009
East China Normal University, Shanghai
The urban experience of Chinese cities has become a topic that catches worldwide interest. The conference will focus on the following broad questions: How has the urban society transformed since the launch of economic reform? How has the urban space and social structure changed? What patterns has the Chinese experience revealed? How has the state-society relationship unfolded and restructured at the urban level? How did the new social groups and new civil space emerge? How does urbanization shape the urban spatial arrangement on the one hand, rewrite the urban-rural relationship on the other hand?
We invite submissions of original, high-quality research papers addressing the above questions. Research topics include, but are not limited to:
? Urban social space and the new social groups
? Community order and power restructuring
? Suburban village development and the urban-rural relationship
? Urban housing, spatial differentiation and social justice
? Urban policy and adolescence well-being
Submission
All submission must be in Microsoft Word format. Please send your title and abstract to urbanconference2009@gmail.com no later than June 30, 2009. The deadline for full paper submission is August 31, 2009.
Submitted papers will be reviewed for consideration in the workshop. Selection for presentation will be based on originality, contribution to the field, and workshop themes. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings..

Registration
Please note that there is no registration fee for the workshop. But all participants must register to attend. The workshop will cover the accommodation and food costs for accepted participants.
